It’s time to get started with our end of year SAGE testing. I really want to make sure your children are well rested and full with a BIG, yummy, protein rich breakfast on these testing dates. Also, please make sure your children are here and are ON TIME these days! We want them to be as successful as possible. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Also, research shows that students are calmer and focus better when they chew peppermint gum during tests. So, I will be giving peppermint gum to the students during each session. If you do not want your child to have gum, please contact me and let me know. Thanks so much for all you do!

Hello!!! Our Halloween Party coming up on Friday, October 28th. I wanted to give you a heads-up about the schedule that day. It is a short day, so the kids will be leaving at 1:00. For those of you that don’t know, the school does a Halloween parade, so all the students walk through both schools to show off their cute costumes. It usually lasts till about 10:00, so I thought we could start our class party at 10:05 and have it last until 11:25 (when they leave for recess/lunch). I am planning on having stations and rotate (kind of like centers) with one parent or volunteer running each one. Each station can be a craft, game, or food project. I’d love to have some volunteers to help us with this. Please let me know if you can help us! Thanks so much for helping us have a great time celebrating Halloween!!!
As of now we will be having assorted candy (licorice, suckers, candy corn, Resse’s peanut butter cups), pretzel rods, and cookies. If there are any issues, let me know. Miss Young
Picture day will be August 22nd. Students need to wear their uniforms that day because this is the picture is the one their name badges. The forms will be sent home tomorrow if you would like to purchase the pictures.
No homework!!! Though we do have some important announcements!
If anyone has great pictures from the play, I would love a copy! You can send it to nyoung@questac.org
I am working on a DVD of the play. Let me know if you would like a copy.
We are working on an iMovie this week that sums up our 3rd grade year.
We will be cleaning out and cleaning up our classroom on Thursday.
Art books will be sent home this week. Not everything fit, but they still turned out cute!
Friday is field day. It is a dress down day, but 3rd graders are required to wear their tie dye shirts. Please make sure students are dressed for the weather and have a water bottle to keep hydrated. I would also encourage sunblock and/or a hat.
This year has been so wonderful! I am going to miss my class so much! Thank you for your support this year.
It’s time for parent/teacher conferences again. We are scheduled to have them Thursday, April 28th from 3:30-4:30. I have parking lot that day, so the time for the first meeting will probably be more like 3:40. Let me know if you would like to meet!
Spring pictures will be taken on Monday, April 11th. Thus, uniforms are not required on this day. Please note that students should still follow dress down day guidelines by wearing appropriate attire. All students, unless you indicated otherwise, will have their picture taken. Here is the form-School Picture Form
