More information for the Week!!
Rendezvous & Christmas Class Party INFO
Always have your kiddo read for 20 mins. I love them to play/practice multiplication facts!!!
MONDAY, DECEMBER 16th all Rendezvous items are due. We will be making signs in class that day. I will provide all the materials for the sign making. You are in-charge of their project. Our rendezvous activity will be December 19th 2:15-3:00, Q1 gym. All parents/grandparents/etc. are welcome to attend. I will give you some pelts to buy from the kids while you visit.
December 20-Our class Christmas party is coming soon and parents often ask if their children can bring candy to share for the party. According to our wellness policy, students are not allowed to bring treats to share. If you would like to bring a gift to handout, it cannot be any type of food.
Our Christmas party will be the last day of school before Winter break, December 20. We will be rotating with the other 4th grade teachers. Our rotations will begin at 10:00-11:40. Students will stay in our room for 20 mins and move to the other rooms every 20 mins. Parent volunteers are always welcome. If you would like to help in any way please message me.
REMEMBER it is early out at 1:00 and we don’t come back until January 6th. Friday, December 20 is a FREE dress down day. Merry Christmas and Have a wonderful New Year celebration!!!

This is what we are learning this week Dec 2-6th
Math for the week!
Learning to divide 3-digit numbers by 1-digit numbers.
In Science we are learning about Types of Rocks and the Rock Cycle!
Igneous, Sedimentary and Metamorphic Rocks
Upcoming Mountain Man Rendezvous Info.
We will be having our annual 4th grade Rendezvous (a.k.a. the Economics Fair) the last week before Christmas Break on Thursday, December 19th at 2:15 PM. I will let you know as soon as we have the gym scheduled. It will be held in the Q1 Gym. This is a fun activity for all who come! ALL are welcome including smaller siblings. Guests will receive complementary “pelts” at the door to spend too.
To be ready for this event, students will need to make 24 products or plan a service to “sell” during the rendezvous (please keep the expense very low. I recommend making each item well under the value of $1. Be creative and use things you already have. Nature if filled with free supplies.) Some examples are (but not limited to):
Use your imagination. We have had in the past: flower pens, play dough, slime, hand warmers, jewelry, and other simple crafts. You pick what you would like to bring BUT no food items will be allowed. The kids will be learning about economics this month. But as their parent, talk to them about why it is a good sales strategy to make something that no one else has. That way, you can charge more for the product because you won’t have any competition. HIGH DEMAND=MORE SALES/PROFIT 
Your overall profit will reward you with bragging rights. We don’t use any “real” money.
From now until the rendezvous, students will have the opportunity to earn “animal pelts.” This is our form of money/currency given out by 4th Grade Teachers to be used to buy things at the rendezvous from other students. You will turn in your paper pelts afterwards. Whatever you choose to make should be homemade. Students should use materials that can be found around the house to make their product. Any cost involved in purchasing materials should be minimal. Students will need to make 24 items to sell. Please let the students make this product/service with minimal help from grown ups. Rendezvous items are due Monday, December 16. This will assure that students are ready to sell that week. It will also give time for teachers to help students price their product and make a poster in class. AGAIN, the product posters are being made in class.
Lastly, please fill out this Google Form to allow your student to participate.

Dollar Dress Down Friday and Reindeer Run Info.
Friday is a Dollar Dress Down Day. All proceeds will go to help the Angel Tree in the Q2 building. Stop by the tree if you would like to take a tag and buy for a child in need. (Student participation is optional. Students are welcome to wear a Quest Spirit shirt with uniform pants or traditional uniforms).

News for the week of Nov. 11-15th
Yearbook Cover Contest
We are having a yearbook cover contest for our yearbook this year. We will have one yearbook for the elementary school, and one for the Jr High school. All entries must be done by the student and submitted by close of business on Thursday Nov 21st. We will choose a winner and forward the info to Bell Photography.
Winners will have to be chosen before we leave for Thanksgiving. The student with the winning photo will also be given a free yearbook this year.

Parent Teacher Conferences (Sign Up)
Hello Parents –
Parent Teacher Conferences are Tuesday, November 5th and Thursday, November 7th. Please sign up on the sheet for the best time to meet about your students accomplishments (so far). I prefer the students to lead the conference, so I like them to be in attendance. If you have any problems, please let me know.

Week of 10/21-10/25 (Halloween)
We’re finishing up factors and multiples this week, then we’ll be moving on to number and shape patterns. Here is some info on that for this week:
4th Grade Halloween Party is on Thursday, October 31st. This is what our day looks like:
The Halloween Parade will start at 9:00 am, and parents are welcome to come and enjoy. Our class will walk the halls of Q1 and Q2 in costumes. Students will wear their Halloween costumes to school! Please remember NO heavy face make-up, masks or weapons…I need to be able to recognize the kiddos. The classroom party will start at 10:00 and last until 11:40 (when the students go to recess and lunch). In forth grade we combine our parties. I have my room of kids for 20 mins, then they are rotating into other 4th Grade teachers rooms for the rest of the time. I do already have my parent volunteers for this party BUT you are always welcome to come and move with your child into different rooms for the duration of the party. It is early out day-1:00. When the kids come back from lunch at 12:35 we will be doing a short activity then cleaning up for the day.
