Valentine Information
Valentine’s Day is a third grade favorite and we love celebrating the day with our class.  We will be making our Valentine containers at school this Friday.  Valentines may be brought to school starting Monday, Feb. 12th.  The students will be creating a list of our classroom friends during centers this week and will be bringing the list home on Tuesday.

On Valentine’s Day, we will not only do some very fun Valentine activities, but we will also be having our Multiplication Madness Party.  We are looking for parents who will be available to help set up at 1:30, serve ice cream sundaes and then help clean up after.  Our class is in charge of the Strawberry Ice Cream and Strawberry Sauce.  Volunteer sign ups will be posted in Bloomz. If you are not signed up for Bloomz, please let us know and we’ll send a form home for you to join us.

Math
We are currently learning about fractions and what the fraction parts stand for.  We will be talking about comparing fractions and the moving onto fractions on a number line.  We are also continuing with differentiated learning paths in Front Row Ed.  Please check Aspire at the end of the week to see where your child is with mastery in each area we are working in this quarter.

Homework
Reading:  20 minutes a night
Math:  Prodigy or Front Row Ed for 15 to 20 minutes nightly.  Targeted Practice in Front Row is a great way to work toward mastery in the various areas.  It helps fill in gaps and encourages your child to move ahead in the areas they have already mastered.

Have a great week!
