  • If you have not paid for your student’s supply donation, you may do so at the front office or you may call the school 801-731-9859
    • This donation covers all of the supplies that your child is using in class, as well as maintaining a supply of pencils, lead, tissues, paper towels, hand sanitizer, art supplies, adding to the classroom library, etc…
  • THANK YOU SO MUCH to those of you who have contributed to our class! 
  • I am hoping to get our class store started in the next few weeks. If you signed up to volunteer for our store, I will be sending a Bloomz message soon. If you did not sign up, but would like to help send me a message or email!
QUEST ACADEMY ANNUAL FUNDRAISER: 
This year our fundraiser is through a partnership with Denik and Schools Building Schools. We are selling a variety of notebooks, journals, sketchbooks and prints with artwork from artists around the world. Please support Quest by helping your child sell some items in the catalog.

    • Cash and checks are accepted. Make Checks payable to Quest Academy

Math
This week in Math we will be subtracting with 3-digit numbers. As we move on, we are continuing to spiral our review of 3-digit addition and rounding to the nearest 10 and 100. The Family Letter is below for information and a fun at-home activity.

Reading:
This week our comprehension strategy is Asking & Answering Questions.  The stories we are reading this week are “Room to Grow” and “Gary the Dreamer”. While reading, we are going to be paying close attention to text structure and the sequencing of events in a story.

Phonics:
i_e :  five, time 
u_e: cube, fume

Vocabulary:
 admires  –  classmate   –  community   – contribute  
 practicing  –   pronounce – tumbled

In class, we learn about these vocabulary words in connection to ourselves. If you notice your child using any of these words in context, this would be a great opportunity to celebrate their efforts!

At Home:
  • Read at least 20 minutes per day. Making sure that your child does his/her reading daily is the single most helpful thing you can do to support educational success.
  • REFLEX- at least 3 green lights per week!
    • There is a link to Reflex on the right hand side of the blog. The username is: alexander3 and students will use their own network password to log in.
