Week of January 3

I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas Break! I missed my kiddos and I can’t wait to see them on Monday to hear about their adventures these past two weeks.

With the holidays behind us, now is the time of year where we have several uninterrupted months to really buckle down and get our standards mastered. It’s also a great time to pass off multiplication facts and raise reading ability. Below is an overview of the coming week.

Important Dates:

  • January 17: No School – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
  • January 28: Dollar Dress Down Day
  • January 31: Mrs. Brown’s Birthday Party!!
  • February 2: Early Out – Parent-Teacher Conference
  • February 3: Early Out – Parent-Teacher Conference
  • February 4: No School – Teacher Work Day
  • February 25: Dollar Dress Down Day

MATH – Please remember to continue practicing multiplication facts with your third grader at home. You can find a cheap set of flashcards at the dollar store, you can print off your own online, or use index cards to create your own. No matter which flashcards you use, it is so important that your child has practice.

This week we will start and complete Lesson 16. Below is the family letter from our math workbook. On the second page of the letter, there is an activity to help students understand adding areas. You are not required to do the activity, it’s just a suggestion if you’d like your child to practice at home.

ELA: This week we’re working on Unit 3 Week 1 in our Wonders book. Below is an outline of what we will be learning.
