My name is Wendy Cowan. I am so excited for the opportunity to teach Kindergarten here at Quest Academy. Teaching is my passion. I enjoy working with children of all ages, but early childhood is my favorite. It is my goal for each child I teach to have a positive first school experience. Creating a classroom environment that is safe, inviting, structured and conducive to learning is a top priority for me. I want my students to have the opportunity for discovery, and I hope to help foster a life-long love of learning. I feel that Kindergarten is the perfect time to immerse children in literature. We will experience literature in all subject areas. I want my students to love books as much as I do. This love will influence their own progress in reading. My favorite part of being a Kindergarten teacher is watching my students grow. The progress they make in this first year of school is astounding and very rewarding. 

I graduated from Utah State University in 1994 with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I began teaching in 1996.  I ver the past 20 years I have taught public and private school off and on while raising my family.  I taught 5th grade in Davis School District for 7 years and owned my own preschool for 6 years before coming to Quest. I received my Early Childhood Endorsement in 2014.

I love spending time with my family. We enjoy vacationing, swimming, hiking, gardening  and fishing together. We also love to read and go to the movies. Baseball is our favorite sport. My husband has coached baseball for nearly 30 years. We even have our own batting cage. I spend a great deal of time supporting my children in their hobbies and interests of baseball, basketball and gymnastics.  

I am excited for the new opportunities going on here at Quest. This is a fantastic school and faculty. I am looking forward to the upcoming year ahead.
