We will send home one phonics baggie book to begin with, depending on your child’s reading level.  These are paper copied books and although they are not expensive, a great deal of time and paper has gone into making them.  I need a signed agreement acknowledging that you will pay for the book should it be lost. Gradually, we will add some Guided Reading books too, which are less about “sounding out” and more involved with using picture clues and context clues to determine meaning.
