I am looking for a few parent volunteers that would be willing and able with a cordless screwdriver in hand to help put together our desks for our classroom. As well as, hauling the other desks to the gym for pick up. As I have a scheduled medical procedure Monday and will not be at school, I will be asking volunteers to come in Tuesday-Friday to help. Reading Passages were sent home Friday with the students for this week. Please return all completed reading passages on Friday with the students orange take home folder.
Make it enjoyable and fun. You can even read to them and then ask them questions!! 20+ minutes a day is a great goal. Your child should be bringing home decodables in addition to their weekly passage throughout the week. These stories can be read and returned for class money. If they read them 3 times out loud with you, please sign it and have them bring it back. It is so important to read every day and ask fact finding questions from the story to develop your student’s comprehension; this is key to meeting the end of the year benchmark goals for 2nd grade, without practicing and developing this skill of retell it is extremely difficult hitting the end of the year benchmark reading levelwhich begins this week.
