Help our class win! Box Top Collection Begins

Dear Parent, Teachers, and Students The Collection Committee has decided to continue giving out the “Free Dress down Day” certificates. The Grade that brings in the most Box Tops, Labels for Education, My Coke Rewards, and Tyson Chicken combined each term will win the “Free Dress Down Day” certificate. At the end of the school year the Grade that has brought in the most for the whole year will win a Pizza/Movie party. Party date will be discussed with teachers of winning grade. As a reminder for those with more than one child attending Quest Academy “please put everything that you have collected into a Ziploc bag and write each of your children’s names and teacher on the front. Everything that is counted in the bag will be put towards each student evenly. Example: If we count 256 total in the bag, each child would get 256 for their grade. This should make it easier on parents so they don’t have to divide up everything among their children.” Thanks again for all your support The 2014-2015 Collections Committee.

Hogle Zoo Volunteer Assignments

Zoo Group for Nelson

Please use the above link to locate your volunteer assignment group for the field trip tomorrow.  For the 5 parents who I have not received permission slips yet for, please print the printable permission slip form on the blog, fill out and return to me early Tuesday morning before we leave on the field trip.  Also, don’t forget the kids need to wear their red uniform shirt and bring their own sack lunch.

Hogle Zoo Field Trip

Our field trip is fast approaching.  Please, make sure that you have signed your child’s permission and returned it back to me.  We received a LOT of volunteers to chaperone our field trip to the zoo! Thank you!

On the day of the field trip, please be sure to have your child wear a school-approved red shirt, and comfortable shoes (there will be a lot of walking at the zoo!)  Also, everyone needs to bring their own lunches as the school will not provide lunch that day.  I will post the names of all of the volunteers on the blog by this Thursday.

Please remember that if you signed up, I’m counting on you to be a chaperone for our zoo trip!  Also, please be sure to meet with me in my classroom at 8:15 A.M. the day of the zoo trip to go over the proper protocol.  Lastly, please bring a back pack large enough to assist some of the students carrying their lunches.

The bus will leave at 8:45 on Tuesday, September 2nd.
we will be arriving at the zoo around 10:00, and we will all be entering the zoo together. The zoo address is 2600 E. Sunnyside Avenue, Salt Lake, UT, 84108. In the past, the buses drove to the back gate to enter and parents met us there, however, last year the zoo changed to have us meet at the front gate – I am assuming that this will also be the case this year, so please plan on meeting us out front. If this changes, either I or another teacher will meet the parents at the front gate after we arrive at the back or vice versa.

We will be leaving the zoo between 12:30 and 1:00, and we will be arriving back at the school at 2:30.
Lastly, we are asking for a $3.00 donation to help pay for the field trip.  If you can pay this, please send it directly to the office.  We greatly appreciate anything that you can donate for our trip.
Thank you!

Class News

Dear Parents, I just wanted to send out a short note and let you know how very much I appreciate the opportunity to teach your wonderful students!  Thank you for your donations to make our classroom successful as well.  Just a reminder, our class has a meeting spot on the right of the second brick pillar of Q1 as you take your car through the pick up zone.  I have worked with the kids on this and will continue to do so.  I only will be outside with them for the next few days and then have been assigned the back HOV lane for my parking lot duty.  Please make sure your kids are reminded of that and designate a meeting spot for your children.  Thanks again for being great parents and allowing me to be part of your students educational experience.
