STEM Lab Volunteers Needed

ooh-ooh-pick-me
We NEED your help!  Volunteers are needed and a great way to see technology first hand and get those volunteer hours in.

Beginning this Thursday, September 21st, our class will begin logging into the computers in the STEM Computer Lab with Mrs. Jones where many of our technology learning standards are taught.

Our class goes there every Thursday from 9:30-10:30am.  Parent help is very much appreciated, especially with these little ones who are just learning how to log into the computers and often need lots of help.

If you are available on Thursdays for the STEM lab please email me:

Paint Shirts

Hey parents!

We will be doing an art project this Thursday and while we will be using washable paints I would like each student to bring an old large shirt from a sibling or parent that can be used to paint with this year. They will leave them at school and they will put them on over uniforms so they don’t get wet or paint on them. Please send a shirt with your child anytime between now and Thursday. However, If they don’t bring one in time they will be able to paint without one.

Thanks!

Friday News

out earlyThis is just a reminder that this Friday is a short day and $1.00 dress down day. The elementary will begin at 8:30am and end at 1:30pm. Below are the guidelines for dress down Fridays:

On dress down days, students are still expected to dress in a manner that positively impacts the learning environment. Clothing must be modest, tasteful, and it must not compromise safety standards for our students. The following standards include:

  • Shorts and skirts need to be consistent with QA Uniform Policy
  • No tank tops
  • No baggy pants
  • No bare or stocking feet
  • No open toe or heeled shoes
  • No clothing which displays obscene, vulgar, lewd, or sexually explicit words, messages or pictures
  • No clothing that exposes bare midriffs, buttocks or undergarments
  • No clothing assumed as gang related
  • If questions arise, the school administration, as the Board of Directors’ designee, has the authority to determine if a student’s dress is in keeping with this policy.

Headphones!

HeadphonesWe will begin practicing using computers this week.  If your child has not brought headphones to school yet we encourage you to send them as soon as possible. We use our headphones EVERY SINGLE DAY, often all at the same time, and we do not allow students to borrow other students’ headphones because of liability in case they are broken, etc.

Thank you very much! :)
