Field Trip Fun

We had such a wonderful time at our field trip to the Aerospace Museum at Hill Air Force Base and with the Hill Air Force Base Fire Fighters!  Thank you so much for all of the volunteers that helped and especially our military helpers who made this possible for us.  I’d also like to give a huge shout out to Spencer VanWeerd for hooking us up with the fire truck and facilitating that great learning and exploring for our students.  Also, a big thanks to Eric Rippley for talking to our kids about aviation.

Field Trip Groups and Permission Slip

The link below will access the Aerospace field trip groups for next week. Thank you so very much to all of our wonderful volunteers that are joining us on our field trip.  There are still 2 students who have not had their parents sign the electronic permission slip.  This must be done in order for those students to participate, so please take care of that as soon as possible.  Thanks so much for sharing all your amazing kids with me everyday.

    *Students are welcome to show their Quest pride by wearing their school spirit shirts (with uniform pants)

3- Please send your cardboard tubes to school for an upcoming S.T.E.M. challenge.

 1st Grade Patriotic Concert on Thursday, May 19th  5:30-6:30pm.

St Patty’s Day!

Wow! What a lucky day!  

It all began when we entered the room to check on the leprechaun traps we had set up the day before.  We found that the room was a topsy-turvy mess!  Chairs were overturned, crayons were dumped on the floor, and little green footprints were found everywhere!

We had worked together the day before to create a message for any leprechauns who may happen to come by.  The message was meant to lure any leprechauns into our traps, but, apparently, it didn’t work!

Instead, a leprechaun had left a message for us, inviting us to try the “Leprechaun Juice” he had left behind.  Unfortunately, we didn’t see the warning label until it was too late!  When I took off my shoes and socks, it was revealed that my feet had turned a brilliant green!  Yikes!

Good thing the rest of our day turned out lucky!  We did some fabulous leprechaun writing and leprechaun math.  Maybe that Leprechaun Juice really did do some magic?  We may never know…

Friday— Oh, The Places You’ll Go!
Wear Spirit shirts with uniform pants today.       

In honor of Dr. Seuss the Book Fair will be open this week, Monday-Thursday 8:00am-4:00pm.   Come check out the Book Fair and find great books to read!

Valentine Events

*Don’t forget to have your child bring their homemade Valentine’s boxes to school tomorrow February 12th. Those students who do not have one I will have a brown paper bag they can decorate in the morning. 

Also don’t forget if you would like to bring a valentine for the students in class we have 26 students in our class and please DO NOT write who they are to. This will be most helpful!
