Parents: Sign Up to Share Your Job with Our Class for Career Day!

Screen Shot 2015-10-04 at 2.12.38 PM
We have been talking a lot in class about neighborhood jobs and citizenship (which, of course, includes contributing as a working citizen of our community).  In light of these classroom discussions, we would love for several of our parents to come share information about their jobs with our class!  This is always a highlight of our academic year!

No pressure!
Please know that you only need to fill about 15 minutes
of time with information about your job, including time for questions/answers! The time goes by VERY quickly!
We welcome you to share any props, tools, visual representations, uniforms, etc. to help your career come to life for the children, but these things are not necessary.  Many jobs that parents may feel are “unexciting” may actually be fascinating for students to hear about and help to give the students a closer look at the “adult world!” It would be wonderful to give the children exposure to a broad range of careers!

When you arrive at the school, be sure to check in at the office and receive your “volunteer” name badge.

If you would like to sign up to volunteer, please e-mail me (anelson@questac.org) with the date and time that would work for you.  The available days/times are as follows:

From the first day of school:                   To the last week of school:
Hogle Zoo Field TripIMG_0755
First off, let me begin by saying it has been an absolutely wonderful school year!  Your students have melted my heart and I truly love and care for each one.  Each student is amazing and I have been so very blessed to have been chosen as their teacher! I will miss their smiles, hugs, letters, pictures, and personalities!

I wish the best for each of them.  Thank you for supporting your students and myself during this school year.  I hope that I have made a lasting impression on them and have instilled in them a love of learning.  I would be tickled pink if my cute students saw me out and about and ran to give me a hug or high five!

Have a wonderful summer!  Don’t forget to read and keep up on all that you have learned, you are going to be tremendous, big 2nd graders!  I am so proud of all that you have accomplished!

Field Day

Kindergarten – 5th

The end of the school year is almost here! The last day of school will be our field day. Kindergarten will be having their own activities. 1st-5th graders will be rotating through activities based on their favorite books. It is a free dress down day. We are asking that, if possible, students wear the following color shirts (they don’t have to be solid or any particular shade).

1st – red
2nd – purple
3rd – yellow
4th – white
5th – blue

Hats will be allowed. Shoes must be closed toe and closed heal. Please put sunscreen on your child as they will be outside most of the day if the weather permits. Water stations will be set up to keep students hydrated. Please provide a sack lunch, labeled with your child’s name, that doesn’t need to be heated as microwaves will not be available.

School will get out at 1:00.
