S.T.E.M. Challenge
Today for our S.T.E.M. Challenge they built a podium for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr to deliver his famous “I have a dream” speech from. They were given 4 straws, scissors, paper, tape, binder clip and cutout of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr and their goal was to build a rectangular prism (3D rectangle) that their cutout would stand behind. There were a few successful groups that were able to accomplish the challenge, however, there were many that did not find success.
We came to the rug and had a good conversation that even the most brilliant scientists and inventors change their designs over and over until they find success. It was a great learning experience for them. The students asked if I could post the Penguin S.T.E.M. challenge from last week they could do at home this weekend as they were all successful with that project. I have attached the link below for that challenge: Penguin Adventures & STEM Challenge File
Have a wonderful and safe long weekend and we will see you back on Tuesday.
