Pick Up & Water Bottles

Remember: The rest of the week is EARLY OUT and end at 1:30pm.  If your student takes a daycare/transportation van, please send me an email with your students name and the van/company name they are transported with.

To help ease pick up jitters for parents and students, I wanted to let you know that I lead our class out the EAST doors.  Carpool students will go to the back of the building.  I take all other students to the tree just in front of OUR classroom windows.

If you have instructed your child to meet you somewhere else (often with older siblings), they can then let me know they will be going to that spot.  Otherwise, your child will be waiting at our designated spot and can go with you after your child lets us know you are there and we see you.

We will do this the first few days until we all feel comfortable with pick up.

Hot Weather + Recess = Thirsty First Graders!  🙂

Please send your child with a water bottle EACH DAY to keep in their cubbies (preferably one that doesn’t spill easily).   One drinking fountain with an entire class of students takes a lot of time and we want to make sure they are getting enough water.  Thanks so much!

Scholastic Book Orders

i love reading_boy3b_Happy Doodle Class
We are excited to utilize the Scholastic Reading Club program in our classroom this year.  Ordering books for your children through this program gives our class points towards free books that your child will utilize in the classroom throughout the year.

Our first book order will be due Friday, August 31st
.   The Scholastic Book order link is located on the sidebar of our class blog (look for the red box) or simply click here: Scholastic Reading Club.  Ordering online is fast and easy, our class activation code is: N8TKQ.  Online ordering allows you to shop all the books, not just the select books in the current flyer.
