First week of school

Thank you so much for sharing your amazing students with us. Here are their pictures from the first week of school. We even had a student make it to the top of the clip chart and earn a STAR STUDENT note to go home! Way to go, Zachary! We have learned so many new things and are doing so well!  Ask your cute kiddo’s about being a bucket filler or an energy drain, and about our class rules.  Enjoy your weekend and we’ll see you all with your smiling faces for picture day on Monday!  Don’t forget to return your homework folders every single day.  Starting next week the homework folders will not go home on weekends.

First Day Pickup Information

Pick UpWe are so excited for our FIRST DAY of school tomorrow and hope you are too!!

Remember: The first three days of school are EARLY OUT days and end at 1:30.

To help ease the first day pick up jitters for parents and students, we wanted to let you know that we lead our  class out the EAST doors.  Carpool students will go to the back of the building.  We will take all other students to the window area between the front doors and kindergarten doors.

If you have instructed your child to meet you somewhere else (often with older siblings), they can then let either Mrs. Bischoff or Mrs. Nelson know they will be going to that spot.  Otherwise, your child will be waiting at our designated spot and can go with you after your child lets us know you are there and we see you.

We will do this the first few days until we all feel comfortable with pick up.

As a quick introduction to our class, Mrs. Nelson teaches in the morning and primarily focuses on Language Arts and Mrs. Bischoff concentrates on Math in the afternoon, but these core concepts are emphasized throughout the day because proficiency in number sense and becoming a good reader is at the heart of these early years.  We work closely together to ensure success and continuity in your child’s learning and in the classroom environment.

Please continue to read to your child and have them read to you during this last weekend of your summer!  The more he/she reads, the better prepared they will be for our upcoming school year :)

We look forward to meeting with you at Back to School Night!  Have a wonderful last weekend of your summer break!
