Summer Kid Movie At Cinemark in Ogden

I miss my students! This invitation is for both new and former students! I’ll be at Cinemark at the Newgate Mall on Wednesday, July 13th at 10am for the Kids Movie Club movie. The movie is “Box Trolls”. It’s only $1 to get in! I would love to see you!

Welcome to 1st Grade!

We are very excited to welcome our new students into our first grade class! We enjoyed getting to know each other and know we will have an amazing year!

As a quick introduction to our class, Mrs. Nelson teaches in the morning and primarily focuses on Language Arts and Mrs. Hill concentrates on Math in the afternoon, but these core concepts are emphasized throughout the day because proficiency in number sense and becoming a good reader is at the heart of these early years. We work closely together to ensure success and continuity in your child’s learning and in the classroom environment.

Please continue to read to your child and have them read to you during the summer! The more he/she reads, the better prepared they will be for the upcoming school year

We look forward to meeting with you at Back to School Night in the fall! Have a wonderful summer break!

The Rush

POQA is selling The Rush Funplex fun passes for $15 (a $23 value). These passes include 2 hours of unlimited activities (bowling, 3D mini golf, laser tag, go-karts, batting cages, the bounce kids zone, the aquatic center, and the Battle Blaster). Tomorrow and Friday

Thursday:
The end is winding near. Please send your child to school tomorrow with only their pen to sign their yearbooks or autograph books with and their home lunch if they don’t have school lunch.

Friday:
There will be NO school lunch and NO microwaves available on Friday. ALL students are to bring a lunch from home that does not require warming/heating. Thank you.

POQA is still in need of volunteers to help with field day on Friday anytime between 8:00-1:30. If you are able to volunteer please call Rachel Hopkins at (801)389-0965. Thank You!

Early Out and Sack Lunches

Just a reminder that school is early out tomorrow at 1pm tomorrow and Friday.

Also, send your child with a sack lunch on Friday as no microwaves will be available due to Field Day.

Field Day Info & Volunteers Needed

FRIDAY, MAY 27- Early Out 1pm
FIELD DAY-wear sunscreen, hat, bring water bottle. Free Dress Down (1st Grade wear RED. Meet the 2nd Grade Teachers.
School lunch will not be available. Please send a home sack lunch-no microwaves will be available.

***Please know that these Book Buddy books are purchased in sets, so when a book is missing, an entirely new set must be purchased to replace it. These sets cost between $35-$40 to replace, depending on which set it is. Please plan on submitting $35 to the office by Friday of next week (May 27th) if you are unable to locate your Book Buddy book so that we can be prepared with book supplies for next year’s students. Thank you so much for your help with this!

1st grade Patriotic Program Reminder!

First Grade Patriotic Concert on Thursday, May 19th 5:30-6:30pm in the Junior High gym (Q2). Students arrive by 5:15pm, dressed in a RED SHIRT and uniform pants. Any patriotic accessories are encouraged!! (Please avoid any tall accessories, such as tall hats, that could potentially block the view of other children standing behind your child.)

We would like to honor the veterans in attendance, so we encourage you to invite any family or friends who have served in the military to join us.

Weekly Reminders

****ALL LIBRARY BOOKS MUST BE TURNED IN OR PAID FOR THIS WEEK OR YOUR CHILD CANNOT PARTICIPATE IN FIELD DAY ON THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL-PLEASE TURN THEM IN****

1- We popped a balloon this afternoon and the students that get their morning work completed on Tuesday May 17th will be able to write in pen for the rest of the day. They will need to bring any pen they want from home. Please send your child with a pen and if they complete their work they will be able to use it.

2- This week will be the last week for parents volunteers in the morning. Thanks for all of your help!!
