Tomorrow we have our hour long STEM lab lesson with Miss Rackham in the STEM lab. I have explained to the class what my expectations of them are and have taught them how to behave respectfully. We have also practiced many times this past week. The students know that if they choose to misbehave in the STEM Lab for Miss Rackham they will be filling out a “Stop, Think, and Do” form and be returned to class to immediately call their parents. This will also result in the loss of citizenship points. Thank you for letting me have the opportunity to teach your wonderful children and for your assistance in talking with your children on what is expected.
The following is our schedule for Parent Teacher Conferences September 25th and October 29th. Quest breaks up conferences into shorter meetings over the course of several months, but I want to meet with all our parents at least ONCE these next two months. I will be meeting with parents for conferences later in the year on an as-needed basis. This fundraiser will help earn money for STEM CLUBS (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) here at Quest! Here are the details:
The Technology Department at Quest is hosting a Family Portrait Event Fundraiser to raise money for STEM CLUBS. This is a fabulous opportunity to get Christmas Cards and all prints will be done in time for Christmas. Mini Sessions will be held at Quest Academy October 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Toni J. is an award winning photographer and has lowered her sitting fees to only $25 for this event. She will donate the full sitting fee to Quest and 10% of your print order. Please call her ASAP to set up your appointment, and then print out this ticket to send to the office with $25 cash or check (please write checks out to Quest Academy). The last day to set up an appointment and send in the money will be Friday, September 25th. Thank YOU!
It is with sad and heavy heart that I am writing this post. Today was our classes second time to the STEM Lab for our fun hour long STEM lesson with Ms. Rackham. Although our class understands and can follow the rules, the majority of the students could not be respectful enough to remain in the STEM Lab today. I was asked to return and get my class. I was so disappointed. I spoke to the class about their behavior and asked them to reflect on what they could do differently to be respectful. I am asking for your assistance with this. Please talk with your children about the rules and expectations of the school, classroom, and computer labs.
