Field Day!

FieldDayJump Into A Good Book!

Field Day – May 28th
For Kindergarten through 5th

The end of the school year is almost here! The last day of school will be our field day. Kindergarten will be having their own activities. 1st-5th graders will be rotating through activities based on their favorite books. It is a free dress down day. We are asking that, if possible, students wear the following color shirts (they don’t have to be solid or any particular shade).

1st – red ( THIS IS US!)
2nd – purple
3rd – yellow
4th – white
5th – blue

Hats will be allowed. Shoes must be closed toe and closed heal. Please put sunscreen on your child as they will be outside most of the day if the weather permits. Water stations will be set up to keep students hydrated. Please provide a sack lunch, labeled with your child’s name, that doesn’t need to be heated as microwaves will not be available.

School will get out at 1:00 the rest of the week.

Testing 5/18-5/22

A good deal of testing will be completed this week, so PLEASE try to have your child at school this week, every day, all day long.  Please do anything possible to avoid any absences, early check-outs or tardies this week.

We really appreciate your help with this! It makes a big difference to your student when he/she is in attendance for testing, and we want every student to have the best shot possible at performing well on all end-of-level tests. :)

Opera

Just a reminder to parents:  There will be a concession stand tonight at the opera.  Please have your kids arrive at 5:50pm.  The concession stand cost will be $1 per item.  There will be water, gatorades, and miscellaneous candies to help offset the costs of the opera supplies and scenery.

Thank you for your support!

Opera and Permission Slip

It’s that time of year where lots of year end events are occurring.  Here are a few things that need to be accomplished.

1- Make sure your child has their opera costume.  We are performing first thing in the morning for the entire school tomorrow.  The Parent Performance will be Thursday evening in the Q2 gym at 6pm.

2- Sign the permission slip today for the year end activities, which begin Friday here:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1AgBg6i47MewH2E0J7yYqUAsHJM3YOQVYcLTFcPyXh5M/viewform

3- Have your student complete their homework for Math on Front Row Ed. Class code is: tcri3k, then click under the Yellow Geometry box.

4- Your child should read in RazKids at least twice this week by reading as many books and taking the associated comprehension quizzes in their 20 minute reading time a night.  This will be worth 100 points on their grade.  I input the comprehension scores straight from these quizzes.

5- Spelling City– Week 30 Spelling List and Week 30 Vocabulary List.  The students complete these activities during their center work in class.  If they chose not to do them they will need to do them at home.  Also, Moby Max-under “Writing Assignments” they need to complete their Week 30 Sentence Practice and submit it.

Opera Costumes & Performance

It has been so fun practicing with our opera costumes this week!  We hope everyone has their costume tomorrow, Wednesday, for our dress rehearsal

We are performing our Opera for the school on Thursday morning at 9am.  Please make sure ALL costumes are with your student in the morning.  There will not be time to call home for forgotten costume pieces.

Feel free to join us that evening for our parent performance at 6pm.

Opera Staging Day

Thursday, May 14th is our Opera Performance Day!  Please make sure that your child’s costume is ready and brought to school and they are ready to go for our morning assembly as well as our Parent Performance at 6pm that night.  They have worked really hard and are so excited to share their Opera with you.
