Halloween Donations and Help!

Hello My wonderful parents – We are getting into a busy month for us. First, we have the field trip to Green Acres on Oct. 15 and then Fall Break during Oct. 16 – 18. Watt Smart will visit us at the school on Oct. 22 and finally Halloween is on October 31. I have made a form if anyone wants to donate prizes or food for the party. Also if you want to come help, the more the merrier.
I am making the party pretty simple. Nachos— basically the liquid cheese and the chips from Costco. If anyone would like to donate any other treat or drink fill it out on the form.
We will be hearing scary stories and watching scary cartoons during our party after the parade. The parade starts at 9:00am and then the party will go from 10:00ish till lunch at 12:05. Siblings are welcome during this time and even to walk in the parade with their sibling.
Remember NO weapons, blood, or masks.
If you have any questions feel free to email me. Thank you for the support you give our classroom.
xoxox,
Mrs. Young

Field Trip: Tuesday, October 15

The fifth grade will be going on a field trip to Green Acres Dairy, on Tuesday, October 15th, from 9:00-12:00. We will be experiencing the farm as well as the corn maze. We are asking for each student to donate $5 to help pay for busses and admission. We are also asking for five parent volunteers per class. Volunteers will also need to pay the $5. Please pay your donation to the front office by October 15th.

Students will still be required to wear their uniforms, but please also dress appropriately for the weather. We will be back to the school prior to lunch. Please do not send any food with your student to eat on the field trip. We are also asking for no siblings to attend. We will need help from our parents to watch and help with the fifth graders and this is your chance to have a great adventure with your student.

Please complete the form below.

Math Tutoring

Hello Parents  and Students –
I am starting tutoring next week September 17 and 19. Those days are Tuesday and Thursday. Tutoring will go from 3:00 – 3:30. It is a privilege learning time and anyone is welcome to come. I will personally email parents and students who have NOT mastered the concept I will be focusing on. If you do not receive an email…. it means that your child has mastered the objective being taught that day. But if you still feel you want them to come, that is ok, but no siblings and no inappropriate behavior will be permitted. I will simply ask the child to leave for that tutoring session. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. I will have the schedule up for this rest of this month.  The schedule will fall under the page (Math Tutoring Schedule). If you have any questions please email me.
Thanks again,
Mrs. Young

Heredity Fun!

We did a hands on activity in class on how heredity and genes work! I think some had a hard time reading and following the directions. It was a great learning and collaborating activity. I saw some groups work great together and others were struggling, but GREAT learning experience all around.

Crayola Paints

Hello Parents –
I am in NEED of some new water color paints. I bought an entire classroom set of a cheaper brand last year and they are HORRIBLE! Won’t show up at all on any paper. Made me so sad that I wasted some of my stipend money on these paints.
So, I am asking for help! If each parent would be able to buy 1 or 2 (crayola) water paint set we could restock our classroom. I am in debt already to you wonderful people! Thank you in advance for your generous donations.
Warmest Regards,
Mrs. Young

PS – You can start sending them any day this week. WE will use them on Monday, September 16.
