Social/Emotional Vocabulary

 

  1. Self esteem- the regard you have for yourself as a person, your importance and self worth.
  2. Self image- how you see or perceive yourself.
  3. Integrity- holding to a moral code; matching behavior to your values.
  4. Resiliency- the ability to bounce back and recover.
  5. Empathy- understanding, being aware of, and being sensitive to the feelings, thoughts, and experiences of another.
  6. Refrain- to resist or stop doing something.
  7. Harass- to persistently annoy with the intent to harm–emotionally or physically.
  8. Influence- to affect the action of another.
  9. Peer pressure- the strong influence that others in the same age group can have upon an individual, either positive or negative.
