November 18th-22nd

Dear Parents,

Thank you for your continued support! We have just one week until Thanksgiving break, and the students are working diligently to learn and remember high-frequency words. This week, we will finish Unit 2, so please keep practicing both Unit 1 and Unit 2 words at home. If they are reading these words easily, you can also work on spelling.

In math, we will be focusing on double facts, which are very important for building math fluency, just like our partners of ten. Your help at home is greatly appreciated.

Please note that we will have an early dismissal on November 22nd, and we will return to school on December 2nd.

I want to remind everyone that students are expected to return their library books every Thursday. This helps ensure that all students have access to new reading materials.

Additionally, on Monday, a snow day packet will be sent home in their take-home folders. Please be sure to place this in a safe location. If we encounter inclement weather and are unable to attend school, students will need to complete this packet instead of attending classes.

Thank you once again for your support!

November 11th-15th

Dear Parents,

I can’t believe we have made it all the way to November; it has gone by so fast! With the winter season approaching, please remember to send proper outside apparel with your child, as we will be going outside daily.

As colder weather brings colds and coughs, please remember that if your child has had a fever, thrown up, or experienced diarrhea, they need to be free of these symptoms for 24 hours before returning to class.

Additionally, please continue to practice reading at home every day and work on our fluency in addition and subtraction facts.

Thank you for your continued support!

Best regards,
Ms. Strain

November 4th-8th

Dear Parents,

Last week was an exciting week! Thank you so much for those of you who volunteered with the Halloween party; the kids had a blast with the crafts and games.

We took our math prove it on Wednesday, and some of our friends still need a little practice. We covered adding three numbers together. This week, we will be learning a skill to make this easier by using the “make a ten” method for addition. It would help us out a lot if you could practice this skill at home.

Thank you for your continued support!

Best regards,
Ms. Strain
