September 13th-17th

This coming up week, we will start discussing the essential question; What makes a pet special? I am sure the kiddos will love this discussion with real and a few make believe pets in their world. We will also begin lesson 3 in math Add in any order! We will be reviewing doubles in math on Monday as some of the first graders had a hard time breaking apart the doubles to add. If your child still needs help after Monday with this skill I will start math tutoring after school on Tuesday’s from 3:05-3:25. I will send an invite through email if your child could use a little extra help with this skill. Please remember to keep all toys at home and not in backpacks as this causes distractions in the classroom. Thanks so much!. Ms. Strain

September 7th-10th

We have had a great time learning in the month of August. Lots and lots of assessments, the kiddos did their best and we are on our way! Please remember to turn in reading folders every Monday, except when we are not at school on Mondays then it will be the next day. Library started last week and will be every Thursday. Once the children begin to check out books they will need to return them every Thursday to check out a new book. If your child does not have headphones at school please send them, we use them daily in class. Thanks! Ms. Strain

First Week!

We had a blast this first week of school! We enjoyed learning about friendships and how to make and keep good friends with stories like “The Rainbow Fish” and “The Crayon Box that Talked’. This next week we begin wonders and i-ready and will be making a pledge to do our best on the diagnostics. If your child has not brought headphones in to keep in their seat chair please make sure to bring them by Tuesday. Thanks so Much!

*A note regarding face coverings:

Quest Administration will continue to adhere to guidance by the Utah Legislature, the Weber-Morgan Health Department, and the USBE regarding mandates associated with the pandemic. As of now, masks are not required for our students. However, Quest families, students, and employees of the school are welcome to wear face coverings. We will keep everyone informed regarding any updates or changes.

*School Lunch/Breakfast:

Though our lunchroom manager will be sending more information out shortly, we wanted to inform everyone that breakfast and lunch will be free the entire year again! Thanks, Madeline, for working with the State to organize this and set everything up!

As always, we thank you for your support and help. We are happy to be returning to a more normal state of teaching and learning. We hope you enjoy the remainder of your summer!
