For February we will be designing tin foil boats to hold valentine conversation hearts.  The students will not be consuming them but I am obligated to let you know they will be used and handled during the activity.  If there is a problem please let me know.

Informational essays

We have got to finish up our informational essays this week.  I’d like them completed by Wednesday if possible.  We are typing them into Google Docs.  If your child had not finished or typed it, please have them work on it at home!  They should just need a concluding paragraph which we talked about today in class.
There is no math homework today, so they should only have reading tonight unless the essay is not completed.

We have another project that we need to get started on and then our States’ Fair is in March so we are going to be busy.

Also, if you have not signed up for a parent teacher conference time, I will be assigning them and sending home the list via email sometime this week.  Please be on the lookout for it.

For Valentine’s Day, I am letting the kids decorate boxes (if they want), it is not required.  We will then vote on the best one.  I am not really planning anything big.  I will probably just let them hand out cards and treats (no food) and we will hand our and play board games for about 40 minutes or so.
