Parents, 

The faculty met with administration yesterday and we will be making another change to Parent/Teacher Conferences for the end of the school year. Instead of having conferences the last Thursday of each month we will have two conferences times a year. Quest decided to make this change this year rather than wait until the fall to transition to the new schedule. Sometime between now and the end of the school year I would like to meet with each parent, even if I have already met with you this year.  I will be doing all of the sign ups for my conferences via Signupgenius, you can also email me or reply to this post.  If you have not yet signed up for a conference with me please do so. I will be assigning times for those of you who do not sign up.  As always, if none of the scheduled times work for you please let me know, I would be happy to do my best to find a time and day that works for both of us.

We started long division today with estimation.  The students were able to get today’s assignments done in class.
Monday: IXL D.9/D.10 Estimate Quotients
Tuesday: No Math Homework!
Wednesday IXL D11.D.12 Dividing by 2 Digit Dividends
Thursday: Adjusting quotients  *Only 1-6
Friday:; IXL D.13/D.14 Dividing greater numbers
*Please know that this is TENTATIVE and may change!  I will let the kids know if they have homework or not, the day of the assignment.

I am so sorry for the confusion but I needed to put off the math test for a day which ended up throwing off everything else.  So, we have not started a new unit in math yet and there was no IXL homework this week.  We did finish up Chapter 12 today, took the test (which is posted on Freshgrade) and will begin the next chapter on Monday!  I will post the tentative schedule on Monday.  
We watched the inauguration of Trump this morning and worked on construction our STEM pigs’ houses and also wrapped up our discussion of the Bill of Rights.  
Please remember to return your child’s permission slip as soon as possible.

Tuesday: Paper Problem Solving assignment
Wednesday: Chapter 12 test IXL: D.9/d.10 (estimate quotients)
Thursday: IXL D.11/D.12 (Divide by a two digit divisor)
Friday: No Homework!

Here is the permission slip for the upcoming field trip in February to the Utah State Capitol.  Please print it out, sign it and return it to me as soon as possible.  I would like them by February 3rd.  
Also, if you have not donated the suggested $10 to the fifth grade field trip fund, please feel free to do so.  We would like to do a fun end of year activity for the kids and your donations will make this possible.
