About Ms. Missy

I am so excited to be your child's teacher! I was a Functional Skills Paraprofessional last year, and this year I get to be their teacher! I have a Bachelors of Science degree from USU and I currently am a student with Western Governors University in their Special Education and Elementary Education degree program. I love to garden, play volleyball, I am a dog lover and I love the beach. I am a wife and a mother to 2 beautiful children. I have an 8 year old daughter, Stella and a 5 year old son named Jefferson. My son introduced us into the Special Education world 5 years ago when he was born. My son was born with Down syndrome and a congenital heart defect. Since the day he was born, he has been my reason! He has been my reason for a career change to help fight and advocate for students who may struggle in the general education setting.

Upcoming Events

This Wednesday is St. Patricks day. It is a free dress down day, if your child wears green.

Also coming up next week on March 25th, Quest will be having a Food Truck Rally! Come join us for a fun and yummy evening. Get Dinner and Dessert here at Quest from 4-7pm.

Halloween Celebrations!

We will be celebrating Halloween on Friday October 30. (Don’t forget Dollar Dress Down Day is Thursday October 29). It is a half day and students will be leaving at 1pm. We will be having a parade around the school starting at 9am. It will be broadcasted on YouTube at this link.

For those who would like to attend the parade for their on-campus children, they should bring camping chairs or blankets and set them up along the outside of either building (see attached map—the yellow dots indicate where families can sit). Everyone watching the parade on campus needs to be wearing a mask and should position themselves as close to the building as possible to allow our students to parade on the sidewalks surrounding the schools. Families should also allow six feet between them and neighboring families.

We will then come back to the class and have a few fun activities that will include: making caramel popcorn, pumpkin slime, pumpkin art, etc.

Please do not forget costume guidelines from Administration:

Costume guidelines:

Please note that costumes should be modest and without blood or gore. Also, face coverings must also be worn throughout the entire day. Students are welcome to paint their faces and wear Halloween masks; however, those masks will only be worn when directed to do so by the classroom teacher (e.g. during the parade, when a class picture is taken, etc). Weapons and anything that depicts violence are not allowed on school property (knives, guns, swords, spears, etc.). If you have questions about costume accessories, please contact us. Just to reiterate, no blood, either depicted on the costume or in makeup, is allowed.

Fall Parent Teacher Conference

We are excited to get to show off everything your student has accomplished so far this school year. This year will look a little different. We will be holding Parent Teacher Conference virtually via Zoom. I have created a Sign Up Genius to help set up the schedule. Remember if your child has an IEP coming up within the next month, you do not have to participate if you do not wish to, since we will be going over present levels during the IEP. Click Here to sign up.

There is a virtual Book Fair as well, so please take a moment to check out all of the great books that are available for your child. You can access the virtual book fair by Clicking Here. Here is the information to access the book fair:
