t is an exciting time of year. There is a special buzz in the air that makes the Christmas spirit come alive. It is my favorite time of the year! This week is a busy one.
Monday – Santa came for a visit! We had a couple students missing unfortunately. But they had a candy cane and jingle bell from Santa waiting for them when they got back to class.
Wednesday – 9:45 -Christmas Choir Concert Assembly
6:30 – there also is a fun Quest under the Stars night.
Friday – Free Dress Down, or Christmas Sweater day. We will be having a Christmas Party in our classroom. The students will have the option to participate in our class or to go to their general education class.
This week’s Spelling and Vocabulary words:
We hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year! We will see you in 2020!
It is a busy week for us, but when is it ever not busy? We finished up math lessons today and will be starting new ones tomorrow (Tuesday). We started our new spelling and vocabulary words for the week today. Please help your student by practicing them to spell each one every night. Also please do not forget your student has brought a book home from the classroom that they are suppose to be reading for 20 minutes each night. I have not had many students exchange them since before Thanksgiving.
Next Wednesday there is a wonderful event planned called Quest Under the Stars. It looks like a great time star gazing and learning more about what is in our incredible galaxy!
Here are this weeks spelling and vocabulary words:
Hope everyone has a wonderful rest of your week!
We hope that everyone had a wonderful and enjoyable break. We have 14 more school days until Christmas Break. We won’t be slowing down any time soon. We are preparing for the middle of the year testing, and we are so excited to see how much your student has progressed.
This week we are continuing with our multiplication facts. You can help your student by quizzing them on their 7,8 ad 9 multiplication facts.
This week we are learning about shape and number patterns. If you notice a pattern while you are out and about, help your student recognize the pattern.
This week we are learning how to subtract fractions with different denominators. Help your child by quizzing them to find the least common denominator of any given fraction. We are focusing on 2-12 denominators. You can challenge your student by asking them about subtracting measurements. They will have to find a common denominator before it can be subtracted.
