Meet an Astronaut in person

You are all invited to 
Quest Under the Stars: Destination MARS! Friday, May 19th 5:00-7:00pm In the Q2 Gym.
Your students and their families will have a chance to talk to the astronaut one-on-one, ask questions, and get a picture taken with him. This will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for many of your students.

• Ask questions of a real astronaut
• Get a picture taken
• Learn about his mission to repair the hubble space telescope

Play Your Way to Mars There will also be lots of fun games to play as you pretend to journey to mars.

• Astronaut training challenges.
• Feel how much you would weigh on Mars.
• Build a Mars habitat.
• Go on a space walk in a spacesuit and use radios to communicate with mission control.
• Find signs of life on Mars.
• Eat some astronaut food and put together an astronaut menu.
• Even test your luck surviving an asteroid impact.

Beat the astronaut!
The astronaut will be playing all these games too, so this is your chance to see how well you can score against a real astronaut. Can you beat him? Could you be the next astronaut to go to space?

• April 18: Optional Spring pictures (if you haven’t already, please use this FORM to declare whether or not you would like your student to have their picture taken and to order photos) and FREE Dress Down Day

• May 19: Ms. Monique’s Kindergarten Graduation 12:00-12:30. Parents are invited to the library for a short presentation and picture opportunities in the front of Q1 afterwards.
• May 25: Early out 11:15-1:15
• May 26: Last day of school- early out 11:15-1:15

May 8-12 will be our kindergarten assessment week. These assessments will provide us data on student growth and mastery for the school year in reading and math.  

There will be NO SCHOOL for ALL kindergarten students Wednesday-Friday, May 10-12.

Spring pictures will be taken on Tuesday, April 18. Thus, uniforms are not required on this day. Please note that students should still follow dress down day guidelines by wearing appropriate attire.

Friday is the big day for our Treehouse Museum field trip.  Please arrive by 8:25

$5.00 donations are welcome to help with our field trip expenses, including museum admission and the cost of bus transportation. Donations may be paid in the Q1 office or online (select “Other” and enter Ms. Monique field trip). Any extra funds will be used for our Kindergarten field day in May.

Here are a few reminders to help your student have a successful, enjoyable day:

1- Students wear their uniforms . 
2- Arrive to school by 8:25.  Buses will depart at 8:45am.
3- Please have a good filling breakfast!
4- Leave student backpacks and water bottles at home.
5- Pick up your child at Quest at 12noon (we are scheduled to arrive back to the school at 12noon) For those picking up their students at Quest: Do not park along the sidewalk by the front of the elementary. Please leave room for two buses to pull up and safely unload the students when we arrive.

Parent Chaperones: If you are driving, we expect to arrive to the museum at 9:15am and depart the museum at 11:30am. If you choose, you may take your child home with you from the museum (you may also choose to remain at the museum with your child and continue exploring/playing). Please see Ms. Monique before you leave to sign the checkout form.
