3rd Grade Celebration

The permission slip for the 3rd grade celebration was sent home today. If you already got it from the earlier blog post, it is the same. Please read the itinerary carefully. Students need to bring their apple shirt (we are signing them) and two books for the book swap. It is going to be a really fun day!

We are also asking for donations of chips (any kind), plates, napkins, and apple juice boxes. We have the pizza and otter pops. Donations can be brought in anytime before or on the 29th. If you would let me know in the comments or an email what you can bring that would be great!

Thank you so much for making this a wonderful year!!

Book Swap for 5/29

We are doing a 3rd grade Book Swap on next Thursday, May 29th.  Most kids don’t read a book more than once, so this is a great way to recycle books among friends. A Book Swap is good way to get gently used books for FREE that your children can read through the summer.   Have your children bring one or more books (in good condition) that they are willing to give away to other student(s).  These books should be at least on a second grade level; preferably chapter books.   This should be fun for the students!

Week of May 19, 2014

You made it!! No more homework for the rest of the school year! I would encourage everyone to continue reading 20 minutes a day, but besides that we are done with homework. There was a ton of hard work put into homework this year. I couldn’t be more proud!

Our field trip to the Megaplex in Salt Lake is tomorrow. Please remember students should be at the Roy Front Runner Station at 8:15. Please pick them up at the same station at 2:47.

If you are coming to the theater with us please remember that the theater will only be accepting cash. Movie tickets are 5.50. Concessions are normal prices.

Students will need to be in uniform with their backpacks, a lunch, a water bottle, shoes for walking, and a jacket. I would also recommend something to entertain them while on the train. If electronics are brought, it is at their own risk.

Also: The third grade team has planned a “Super Fun Filled Third Grade Celebration!” We have a day long celebration planned. The details and information are included in the permission slip.Quest Academy Parental Permission Slip for Third Grade celebration.

Megaplex Field Trip

We have planned one last minute field trip to see Rio 2 at the Megaplex Theatre at the Gateway in Salt Lake City on Tuesday, May 20th.  We will be taking the Front Runner/TRAX again to save on busing costs.  Students need to be dropped off at the Roy Front Runner Station at 8:15 a.m. and will need to be picked up at 2:47 p.m.

Students will need to bring their own bag lunch and a water bottle in their backpacks. Students will also need to be dressed in uniform for the field trip (and wear name badge).
Students will be provided a Sprite and popcorn for their movie snack.  Students do not need any money for the day.

Parents are more than welcome to attend on the field trip.  Parents will need to pay for their own Front Runner tickets and movie tickets/concessions.  The Megaplex is willing to give all parents the same price they are giving us: $5.50 admission.  You MUST bring cash to pay for admission and concessions because the theatre will not be officially open.  A permission slip is coming home today and here is a link as well-Permission Slip.  Please sign and return tomorrow.  Thanks!
