Homework is going to be a little bit different this week because we will not be doing Words Their Way.
*****3rd Grade Homework Organizer*****
Directions: Always keep this in your homework folder. Print off required homework for each day from our Class Blog. Each day place a check in the box when you finish your homework. Have a parent initial the column and bring back this sheet every day in your homework folder.
Students are required to read 20 minutes a day. Please record reading time on the attached document. It needs to be handed in every Friday.

We are so lucky!! On April 30 we have another class field trip. We will be going to the Apple store at Farmington Station to learn about how to make an iMovie and learn more about technology. After that we will be eating lunch and then heading to the Planetarium to watch a film and explore for a little while.
In order to make the movie that day, each student will need to bring a flash drive with about 20 pictures and 1 song (no bad words please) to play in the background.
Something great about this field trip is that all parents are welcome to come! No limit!
As for transportation, we will be taking the Front Runner. Parents will need to drop their student off at the Roy Front Runner stop at 8:00 a.m. (We will treat this day just like regular school hours.). Due to the fact that our field trip is only one hour, we are going to get back onto the Front Runner in Farmington after the Apple Store field trip and ride it into Downtown Salt Lake. We will then go the the Planetarium and observe all of the exhibits they have.
Students will need to bring their backpacks with them all day. They need to pack their lunch, a light jacket, and their flash drive (with all the pictures and songs on there). We will get back on the Front Runner in Salt Lake and ride back to the Roy station. We will get there no later than 3:00 p.m. Please be there no later than 3:00 p.m. to pick up your students. If you have other students at Quest, please arrange for them to get another ride or pick them up after you get your child from the Front Runner station in Roy.
I need as many parent volunteers as possible to help me keep the students together, organized, and safe on this field trip. Please let me know if you can help us on April 30th.
Thanks,
Ms. Young
Remember that our field trip is this Thursday! We are leaving the school at 8:45, so don’t be late! Also, please make sure to bring a lunch that does not need to be microwaved. It is going to be tons of fun! If you have any questions, let me know!
Thanks,
Ms. Young

Please be doing all four steps when completing word problems!!
1. Understand
- Go through and underline or circle numbers and important words*
2. Plan
- Decide what strategy you are going to use to solve the problem.
- Example: number line, diagram, array, counters, etc.
3. Solve
- It is important that you take your time in this step to do it right the first time.
4. Check your work
- This step is very important. This is where you try to find computation mistakes.
Addition | Subtraction | Multiplication | Division |
Sum | Difference | Product | Quotient |
More | Less than | Times as many | Divide |
In all | Left | Twice | Half |
