Here is the link to your child’s phonics fluency stories Level 2 Anita Archer Fluency. Please print Lesson 2 and have your child read it each night. Time them for 1 minute and have them read as many words as they can. If they get to the bottom they will go back to the top and continue reading until the 1 minute is up.

-PLEASE make sure your child is bringing their blue folder everyday to school. There are passages in them that are another resource for reading I am asking that you have them read it EVERY NIGHT.

They need to be timed for 1 minute and then using their retell ropes (in back of sheet protector) to tell you as much as they can about the story.

2. Our Valentine’s Party will be Tuesday, February 14th from 1:30-2:45pm.

Valentine’s Helpful Hints:
1- We have 24 students in our class.
2- Only write who the Valentine is FROM. Do not address Valentine’s to each student (this will help the students distribute their Valentine’s in a more orderly manner).
3- Your student is welcome to decorate a box from home and bring it to school on the day of the party (February 14th). Please note: This is not mandatory. I will have something for those who don’t to put their stuff in.
4- To follow Quest’s wellness policy, only nonfood Valentine’s. Thank you.

Per Quest’s Wellness Policy, all food in the classroom must be preapproved. Furthermore, parental permission is also required for students to consume food during class parties. Due to this policy—as in years past—student Valentines cannot contain edible items. Suggestions for nonfood Valentines include pencils, erasers, bubbles, stickers, etc. Please note that such items, including Valentine cards, are in no way required.

3. Click here to sign up for a February Conference. I will also be available on February 21st from 4pm-8pm. February 23rd from 3-8pm is also available. THIS IS OUR FINAL CONFERENCES FOR THE YEAR.

February STEM

For STEM this month we will be allowing the student to use cardboard tubes if they would like when they create their product. If you could please save your paper towel tubes for this project that would be great. Please no toilet paper ones. 🙂

We will be collecting them until February 21st.

100th Day of School Celebration!

Don’t forget tomorrow is the 100th day of school! We will be doing some math using 100 objects that they bring from home.

Please send your child with 100 objects/items in a small bag or baggy. This needs to be something that fits in their backpack and they can easily count and take home without getting too messy or lost. NO food items per Quest policy.

This is a fun day as we explore the number 100. Thanks for your help with this!
