Homework
Parents,
I have noticed several students have not been bringing back baggy books on a regular basis. Please read baggy books every night and return them to school at least twice a week. This is one of the most important ways to help your child academically. There are several books that need to be read in order for your child to be ready for first grade.
Please keep working on homework packets every night and return them at the end of each week. I have several students who have not been turning in homework. These homework packets are a large portion of your child’s grade, so if you have questions about what is required please email me as soon as possible. I would like every student to be doing homework packets for the next five months. The material in these packets will help to reinforce important concepts that we are working on in all subject areas, not just reading.
On January 4th, all homework packets and December’s reading calendar will be due!

Need At Home Help
I’m in need of volunteers to help cut the fringe around the outside of our tie quilts in order to get them ready for the kids to tie next week. If you are willing to help, please drop by our classroom any time and pick up some blankets. Thank you!

Permission Slip
On December 9th (Wednesday) we will be doing a fun STEM activity involving food. The children will be creating a polar express train using cookies and candies. School policy states that we cannot serve food to children unless we have a permission slip allowing us to give them food. Please print a copy of the permission slip below and return it to school as soon as possible.

Due Dates
*Please remember that all homework including reading calendars are due Monday (November 2nd). This is a large portion of your child’s grade so please make sure that it gets handed in on time.
*For parents who did not attend parent teacher conferences last week, I recently sent home SEOP forms with your student (at the top of the form it says “Conference for: and your child’s name). Please be sure to sign the form and return it to school as soon as possible. These forms must be returned to the school and they are kept in your student’s school file. If I met with you at parent teacher conferences, you have already signed this form.
*Scholastic book orders are due November 11th.
