I will be sending home a monthly calendar at the beginning of each month. On this calendar, I would like you to write the minutes read each night in the boxes on the calendar and at the end of the month return the calendar for a grade and a sweet reward for your child. I would like students to read twenty minutes each night, five nights a week. Parents are asked to review letters and sounds every night until I start sending home baggy books, at that point you can then have your child read to you. Thanks and happy reading! Below is a link to this months optional homework assignments for your child to do, that reinforce concepts that we are learning in class. Please bring back their work each week and at the end of the month they will get to pick a reward out of my reward box. If you would like more challenging homework, email me and I will customize their homework to their ability level. (Important: This year we do not have access to Razkids, IXL or mobymax, please skip those sections when they are in the homework packets)
I will be starting to send home reading books for the children to read at home. I have attached a permission slip link below. Please sign and send back to school saying that you would like to participate in this program. Please get this form back to me as soon as possible. If you are having troubles printing this form, I can make a copy and send it home with your child (just let me know if you need one).
