Oh, the Places You'll Go!

I will be doing SEP’s this week and next week.  SEPs are purely optional for your benefit.  If you have concerns or would like to have a conference with me, I will be available immediately before or after AM Kindergarten class time.  Please email me and let me know if you would like to set up an appointment and what time works best for you, and I will be happy to meet with you.  

The first week in March we celebrate Dr. Seuss’ Birthday. We are excited about this celebration and wanted to make it extra fun for Kindergarten. Along with this celebration, the school cafeteria is serving Green Eggs and Ham on March 5th. We want to give Kindergarteners the experience of eating school lunch to prepare them for 1st grade, so we chose Green Eggs and Ham day to give them this exposure and learn the rules. This lunch includes fruit, veggie and a grain. Everyone will go to the lunchroom, however you can choose to send a home lunch or pay $2.90 to eat school lunch. YOU MUST PAY AT THE OFFICE OR ONLINE BY MARCH 2ND TO EAT SCHOOL LUNCH. They need to order the food that is needed. 

If you don’t know how to pay online, call the office and they can give you instructions. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Don’t forget to come see our wonderful school play, March 6th and 7th. 

The first week of March, our school with be celebrating Dr. Suess week.  One of the activities for this celebration is a door decorating contest.  We need to decorate our classroom door in a Dr. Suess theme.  I’m in desperate need of volunteers to put this project together.  I have several ideas, but if you want to use your own idea, that works great as well.  

I am in need of some helpers to do some cutting for me.   If you are willing to do some work at home, please let me know.  Thank you!!

We are planning on doing a read-a-thon on the 20th of February with the whole school. We will take an hour during classroom time to have our class read. They will get pledges for reading from friends and family. Thanks for your help with this fundraiser!

Tomorrow, we will be having our class Valentine’s day party.  Children are welcome to bring a valentine for their fellow classmates.  Please do not send any food items. We have 26 students in our class (please do not write who the valentine is for on the card, this makes passing out valentines very difficult).  Also, the children are welcome to bring a decorated valentines box to hold their valentines in.  This is purely optional, please do not feel like you have to create a box.  I will be providing a bag for students who do not bring a box.
