Christmas Around the World
We still need lots of help, our class is about to begin a huge study of Holiday/Christmas traditions around the world (Dec. 16-18th).
Your child will journey aboard “Christmas Airlines” to learn about holiday traditions in places such as England, Sweden, Germany, and Italy, to name a few! As they journey, they will create mementos from their trip to each country. This unit of study will be a fun, interactive learning experience that I hope your child will enjoy… but I need your help! If you have every lived, visited or just would like to share information about any countries outside the United States, I need your help! I need people that are willing to present pictures, traditional clothing, and/or talk about what the holiday season in that country looks like, during the week of Dec. 16th. If you are willing to share this information with our class, please sign up on our sign up genius below.

Coming up this week…
- Don’t forget that Friday (Nov. 22nd) is also our early out day; school gets out at 10:30 (AM Class) and 1:00 (PM Class). Friday is also the last day of school before Thanksgiving break. School is out November 25th- 29th.
- Scholastic book orders will be due Nov. 29th. If you would like to give the books as a gift, please let me know. I will deliver your book order to you so that your child will not see the books.

Thanksgiving Feast
We will be having our Thanksgiving Feast, so to speak, on November 22nd. This is the short day before Thanksgiving break. We will be centering our feast around the book Turkey Trouble. It is an adorable book and the turkey serves pizza for dinner at the end. So, we will be having pizza for our party. I would love donations for the pizza, only a couple of dollars per kid. If you are willing to help, you can just take the money to the office and tell them it is for Mrs. McBride’s Kindergarten Thanksgiving party. This is not a requirement, but your donations will be very helpful for this party.
Please don’t tell your student that we will be having pizza, it is going to be a surprise! Thank you for your help.

TeacherEase
1st Quarter Progress Reports are updated and available on TeacherEase.
As a reminder, we use the following Mastery Grading criteria determined by student performance on various assessments. When students demonstrate their proficiency on a standard, they are given a “3″ and this is considered a good grade.
