Screen Shot 2019-03-29 at 7.33.04 PMI cannot say thank you enough for all of your help today helping our students make their amazing musical instruments!  A big shout out to Amara, Savannah, Chris, Angel, and Ciara!  I know it was a little chaotic, but the kids had such a great time.  I appreciate all of you who sent supplies, volunteered your time, and picked stuff up for us to use.  Ask your kids what makes sound and see if they can answer you.

Due by Friday 3/29: DIY Musical Instruments Materials

    IMG_0846D
    •   Last week we talked about some famous inventors and will continue to talk about them this week.
    • Here are a few ideas: DIY Musical Instruments
    •     This week we will also be talking about sounds we hear and how those sounds are made. I thought it would be fun to make (invent) some musical instruments in class this Friday, then attempt to “Make Beautiful Music” together
    •     Please send in any of the following with your student on or before Friday March 29th: paper towel tubes, toilet paper tubes, clean plastic soda or water bottles, and or tissue boxes. If  you have extra supplies PLEASE feel free to send them in anytime. I want to make sure we have a good variety.
    • I would love to have some help with this project.  If you have some extra time, and need some volunteer hours, I would love to have your help. I would like to start the project as close to 12:15 as possible then finish around 1:10ish. That should give us plenty of time to play and clean up before it’s time to go home at 1:30.

    Volunteer Hours

Are you having a difficult time getting your volunteer hours? Would you like to help the school and buy out your hours?  A donation of $150 will take care of your 30 hours for the 2018-2019 school year. If you don’t need your full 30 hours you can make a donation of $5 per hour you need. This donation will be used to put nice stamped cement along the front of the school where the grass won’t grow and creates a mud mess.  If you’re interested in volunteering and need ideas, please contact your students teacher or POQA.  If you have contact information for a person who lays cement or a person who can move a tree, please let Kitty McKissen at poqavp@gmail.com know. If you are unsure how many hours you have, refer to the email you received the beginning of the month from Help Counter or contact Catherine Sumner at csumner@questac.org  Please take your cash or check donation to Q1 or Q2 office.  If you need a receipt, let the office ladies know and POQA will gladly write one for you. Thank you for volunteering and helping make Quest the BEST!!!
