Weekly Update: October 17 – 21

Dear Parents & Students –

Please, remember that math tutoring has changed to Mondays & Wednesdays AFTER school from 3:20 – 3:50 pm. Parents, your child has a student tracker that they are logging their scores in. Please, check for Mastery. 3 is Proficient and 4 is above. If students have NOT passed off different math standards, they can always retest on Fridays with me or after school during these tutoring times. We are constantly practicing all the standards. On IXL, students can work at home on ANY of the topics they are struggling in. They SHOULD know where and what area to go to through the google classroom. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

This week for Math we are learning: Lesson 10 & 11 – Adding and Subtracting Decimals

We are also REVIEWING for Math lesson 9 – Compare / Round decimals – We do NOT test on this standard, but we will be practicing the skill.

ELA – We are learning to compare and contrast different story elements.

Phonics / Spelling – Plurals

Writing – Writing topic sentences for informational paragraphs.

Tuesday, October 18 – Cookie Dough / and Jerky pick up! Thanks again for your support on our FUNDRAISER! It was a GREAT success! Also, to our class for being the HIGHEST SELLERS! xoxoxo

About angie.young

Hi - My name is Mrs. Young. I am excited to start a new adventure teaching at Quest Academy. I have taught previously in Weber School District in 2, 3, 4, and 6th grades. This will be the start of my 13 year. I also taught in Ogden District, before receiving my Bachelor's of Science, in special education preschool and long term subbing for math in the Jr. High Schools. My hobbies are my family!!! AND singing and acting. I have always loved art and theater. I hope to incorporate art into the technology and science to help our young minds expand to new measures. My family has been part of the education system since I was born. I have always been taught to have a passion for learning and growing. I am very excited to help my students this year to achieve all their goals and never stop fulfilling their passions in life. Welcome to 5th GRADE!!!
