Monthly Newsletter – November

Dear Parents –

This month we will be learning multiplying and dividing by decimals. We will also take our first PRACTICE Rise Benchmark test. If you do not want your child to participate in this practice RISE test. Please, let me know as soon as possible.

ELA – We will continue learning closed syllable words, open syllables, homographs, poetry, theme, and reading “Wait Till Helen Comes” during read aloud. At home, be sure to have kiddos reading at least 30 minutes each night. Listening to them out loud for 15 minutes at least.

I have put Quarter 2’s Math power standards and some Kahn Academy videos on the google classroom stream page. If you so desire to see the movies or want to know the process of our math you can click on to them through your child’s google account. This is their qackids.org email. The password should match the one they log in to with their computer every morning.

About angie.young

Hi - My name is Mrs. Young. I am excited to start a new adventure teaching at Quest Academy. I have taught previously in Weber School District in 2, 3, 4, and 6th grades. This will be the start of my 13 year. I also taught in Ogden District, before receiving my Bachelor's of Science, in special education preschool and long term subbing for math in the Jr. High Schools. My hobbies are my family!!! AND singing and acting. I have always loved art and theater. I hope to incorporate art into the technology and science to help our young minds expand to new measures. My family has been part of the education system since I was born. I have always been taught to have a passion for learning and growing. I am very excited to help my students this year to achieve all their goals and never stop fulfilling their passions in life. Welcome to 5th GRADE!!!
