Solar Eclipse Monday

The solar eclipse will be taking place on Monday.  The event begins at 10:13 and peaks at 11:33 and will continue until about 1:00.  Since we will be in class during this time we want to make it a great learning experience for our students.
We will be teaching about the eclipse so they will be familiar with this rare experience. Our school has purchased the protective glasses for our use. We will need to share and rotate these through the grades, so the students may NOT take them home.

A.M. Kindergarteners
Kindergarten will get to use the glasses (to be returned after we finish) at 10:45 am.  To save time and hopefully have some help from parents, we will exit the school early at 10:45 as an entire Kindergarten group  with our glasses on.  Please talk to your Kindergartener about never looking at the sun unless they are wearing specialized glasses.  We will meet in our normal pick up spot, but won’t go home right away.  We can spend a few minutes together observing the eclipse. Parents can join us, but you will need to bring your own glasses for viewing. When you are finished please notify your child’s teacher that you are leaving with your child and you can leave anytime after that.
