– SAGE Testing begins next week!  You can help your child do their very best by making sure they get a good night’s rest, eat a nutritious breakfast, and arrive to school on time on SAGE testing days.  This is a great opportunity for students to celebrate all they have learned this year!
– I am doing math tutoring after school on Mondays and Wednesdays.  If you would like your child to attend tutoring, please let me know so that I can get them on my schedule.
– I sent a field trip note home with students TODAY.  Please be watching for it!  You can also find it on my previous blog post!  We are excited for our last field trip of the year!
– We are practicing our class play in earnest.  Students are so excited!  We will be doing all preparations in class, but I’m asking that you help your student come up with a SIMPLE costume for their part.  If you have questions about this, please let me know.  More details will be coming soon.

This Week in Math:
We will be finishing elapsed time Monday and Tuesday this week.  We will take our time assessment on Tuesday.  Then we will beginning a unit on measurement.  We will also begin reviewing all math concepts from this year to prepare students for the SAGE Math test.

This Week in Language Arts:
We will be taking a break from our regular WONDERS schedule in Language Arts this week.  We are reviewing comprehension strategies and other ELA concepts to prepare for the ELA SAGE test next week.  We will also be writing quite a bit every day.

Homework:
Your most important homework is to read for 20 minutes every night.  You can print the reading calendar below to keep track of your reading.  I also gave each student a reading calendar earlier this month.  Just color in one cloud each night you read.  Bring your calendar with every cloud colored in at the end of the month for a special prize.
April Reading Log
For math homework this week, you should still be practicing your multiplication facts!  It is so important to continue to practice so that you don’t forget these facts.  Being able to recall your multiplication facts quickly and correctly will make other math concepts so much easier for you!

We are going to have a GREAT week!
