Reminders:
– SAGE Testing begins TODAY!  You can help your child do their very best by making sure they get a good night’s rest, eat a nutritious breakfast, and arrive to school on time on SAGE testing days.  This is a great opportunity for students to celebrate all they have learned this year!
– I am doing math tutoring after school on Mondays and Wednesdays.  If you would like your child to attend tutoring, please let me know so that I can get them on my schedule.
– Field trip permission slips need to be filled out and turned in ASAP.  If you plan to join us on the field trip, you need to pay $15 to the office no later than TOMORROW.
– We are practicing our class play in earnest.  Students are so excited!  We will be doing all preparations in class, but I’m asking that you help your student come up with a SIMPLE costume for their part.  If you have questions about this, please let me know.  Students’ costumes need to be brought to school no later than Thursday, May 17th.

This Week in Math:
We will be finishing up measuring length to the nearest quarter inch on Monday and taking a test on this concept.  For the rest of the week, we will be focusing on measuring capacity, weight, and mass.

This Week in Language Arts:
This week’s Language Arts will be celebrating all that we’ve learned this year by taking both the SAGE Writing and SAGE ELA tests.  Please help your child be prepared to do their very best on these tests by making sure they get a good night’s rest, eat a nutritious breakfast, and arrive to school on time each day this week.

Homework:
Your most important homework is to read for 20 minutes every night.  You can print the reading calendar below to keep track of your reading.  I also gave each student a reading calendar earlier this month.  Just color in one cloud each night you read.  Bring your calendar with every cloud colored in ON TUESDAY for a special prize.
April Reading Log
Here is your new calendar for May:
May Reading LogFor math homework this week, you should still be practicing your multiplication facts!  It is so important to continue to practice so that you don’t forget these facts.  Being able to recall your multiplication facts quickly and correctly will make other math concepts so much easier for you!

We are going to have a FANTASTIC week!
