Valentine’s Day Party

On February 14th, our class will be having our Valentine’s Day party, as well as a card exchange. Students are welcome to bring a decorated box or bag and Valentine’s Day cards. There are 24 students in our class. The card exchange is optional, but if your student chooses to participate, please remember food items are not allowed. January 27th – 31st

Parent-Teacher Conference will be held on Tuesday, January 28th and Thursday, January 30th. Each appointment will be 15 minutes. I look forward to meeting with you and your child.

On Tuesday, February 4th, the entire 5th grade will be going on a Field Trip to Salt Lake City.  We will be touring the State Capitol as well as the Clark Planetarium. All of my spots are filled for chaperones, but please be sure to complete the permission slip for your student to go.  The chaperones that will be going are a parent of Payton, Jak, Miklo, Hennessy, and Adalai.  Due to restrictions at the Capitol Building and the Clark Planetarium, these are the only adults that will be able to attend.

Suggested Homework:
Students should read at least 100 minutes per week and get 3 green lights on Reflex unless they already have 100% fluency.

Language Arts:
This week our class will be taking a look at the things people can do to bring about positive change. We will be focusing on how people can make positive changes in government and society to promote the “common good.”
