What a crazy Friday! Have a great weekend!
Four things:
1. I have started a new policy of doing a re-take. I introduced it to the students on Tuesday and they were very receptive of it. Retakes are mainly for Math, but may be used for other subjects at times. They may not be used for Words Their Way. There is a form that they fill out and have a parent sign, along with guidelines they need to follow. The form is available here!
2. With the retake in mind, many students wanted to retake the States and Capitals test from today. So, we decided to call today the pretest and take the final test on February 13. That will give everyone who wants to do better a chance to prepare more and those who need more time to prepare, more time. Hopefully that helps a smidge!
3. We will be having a writing workshop on Thursday, February 6 from 6 -7:30 at Q2. We have a Direct Writing Assessment coming up on February 28 {for our class} and as a Fifth Grade Team, would like to ensure success by enlisting parents to learn what the test is about and how they can assist their child. If you are interested in attending, please send me an email RSVP by February 4 so I can prepare the needed materials.
