Here are some guidelines from Dr. Bullock:
“Valentine’s Day is coming! Many of our elementary teachers will have parties for this special day and will inform you of specific dates and times. As stated in our policy, treats will be allowed for this celebration (this change was approved by our Board earlier this school year)! For those classes that choose to have a party, teachers will send out permission slips regarding which treats will be served approximately one week before the celebration. If students are invited by their teachers to bring Valentines for classmates, we ask that only nonfood items be attached to those Valentines, if anything. Though a class treat—decided upon by the teacher—has been approved, individual Valentine treats brought by students are not permitted due to our current food policy and possible allergic reactions.”
