Students are writing an opinion essay on why Valentine’s Day is celebrated. They may work on it at home. It is due on Friday.

You are all so awesome!!! Homework: Third Grade: IXL E3, read and record, practice words for test tomorrow. Fourth Grade: IXL F3, Come to the school at 5:15, in costume, for the Wax Museum from 5:30 to 7pm. Bring a water bottle to help with all of the talking you will be doing! Good luck!!

Tomorrow is short day and $1 dress down.  This is a note from POQA “Tomorrow is a dollar dress down day, for a minimum donation of $1.00 student may come dressed out of uniform.  All money collected will be donated to help Mike and Melony Levey who is a Roy Family that lost their home in a fire last week. Also, tomorrow students will have an hour set aside in class to participate in the Read-a-Thon, if you haven’t turned in your sponsor sheet please bring it in tomorrow.” Homework: Third Grade: IXL D3, read and record, practice multiplication facts. Fourth Grade: IXL E4, read and record, continue to work on Wax Museum speech. Bring in tri-fold boards, costumes, and memorized speeches by Tuesday. {bring in your speech tomorrow and Monday and you will have time to practice in class again.} We will have the school walk about on Wednesday. In case you are missing parts or information, here it is again…  WAX MUSEUM PROJECT ….

We are having a Presidential Week! We will be voting tomorrow for Class President and for United States President! {Thanks to Mrs. Clark and Mrs. Ellsworth for creating our voting booth and ballot box!!} Students are to use the following link, http://adomatic.us , to create their commercial and then email the address to me so we can use it to create a QR code that will be placed on their election poster in the hallway. {if you want 5 bonus points, email me your QR code too! http://qrcode.kaywa.com/ } We have begun to work on our novel for NANOWRIMO. Students may write at home using the address, www.ywp.nanowrimo.org Our goal is to write 10,000 words! Students should bring in their flash drive so that they can save their writing done at school and home.

A great discussion about Presidents and how they are elected took place today! Our Presidential Unit is underway! Homework for Third and Fourth Graders: Read for 20 minutes and record on reading log. Brainiac due November 30: Words for the written report are 200. There also needs to be a visual, your choice. SPOW November 8 November Book Report: Read a book about a President and then create a puppet. The puppet may be a sock puppet, paper bag puppet, paper mache puppet, stick puppet…{you get the idea that it can be a creation of your choosing?!} You will be presenting the information learned about your President using your puppet. You will have to present at least 8 facts about your President. You will have two minutes to present your information.Due: November 27
