Each student received their list today and all they need to do is cut them out, sort them, and then place them in a baggie to be brought back tomorrow. Usually I will have them cut them out and baggie them before they leave, but time got the better of us today.
Their homework will look a bit different with their Words…some of it will be math related, others will invilve writing, or finding synonyms.
thanks!

Welcome back from a wonderful Labor Day break!
I will be updating the blog everyday with homework assignments and needed bits of information. Normally I send out an email of information, but this year I will be utilizing the blog more.
So….here we go!
Third Graders: Homework for this evening is as follows: Find four number patterns and record them. Select one of the patterns and write a story problem incorporating the pattern into it. Bring in a chapter book to have on hand. Read for twenty minutes. Practice math facts.
Fourth Graders: Create four dollar amounts and write them in the three ways discussed and practiced in class today {example: $4.78 : 4 ones + 7 tenths + 8 hundreths, 4 dollars + 7 dimes + 8 pennies, 4 ones + 78 hundreths}. Bring in a chapter book to have on hand. Read for twenty minutes. Practice math facts.
End of year test results were sent home with all fourth graders…be on the lookout!
Volunteer Opportunity: I have several things that have been laminated and need to be cut out. If you are interested, please leave a note on the blog, or stop by in the morning! Thanks!
Thank you parents for all you do!

What a wonderful week! We are almost done with all of the testing and can now get down to business!
Thank you to those who emailed me with a little note. This was so I could easily set up my email group for parents. I plan on sending out an email on a daily basis with the homework for the evening.
This week I introduced the
Brainiac! projects. The handout is at the top of the blog and will open as a Word document. This is a research project that will be completed on a monthly basis, with each month being a certain number of words. Students are to pick a topic that they want to learn more about and research it and then they can present their findings in almost any way they want. Their creativity and curiosity are the only limitations.
Remember…there is no school on Monday. Have a great Labor Day!
